Criss' Demonstration on 11/17!
November 18, 2007Another roundtrip to Vegas for Criss and in the end it was totally worth it!!!
So, I was on Criss' website Friday afternoon and low and behold they posted an announcement for a death defying stunt to be performed Saturday afternoon. Well, I was working on my thesis proposal and didn't think it was possible for me to go, but I told myself that if I finished my proposal, I would reward myself and go. Now it was just a matter of finding someone to go with me. That wasn't hard to do because at the last taping, I met someone from near where I live. I messaged her and I had someone (well two someones: Erika and Ann) to go with me. Woohoo! So, 10:30 p.m. the night before the stunt, we decided to go! Talk about last minute! LOL I woke up at 5:15 a.m. and left at 6:30 to go get Erika. After picking Ann up on the way, we arrived at the Luxor at about 11:45 or so. From then on it was a matter of waiting, but oh so worth the wait!!!
They finally started walking us over the location for the stunt at about 3:45 p.m. or so and then it was a little more waiting. It wasn't too much longer after that and Criss came out. He explained what he would do and the risk involved. Of course if anything went wrong, he could die. I won't give you anything else because it would be no fun when it airs, but let's just say I was worried that this just might be the time that something might go wrong. My heart was pounding and I was praying that he would be okay! After the amazing conclusion to the stunt, Criss came over to the crowd of approx. 400-500 people and thanked us all for coming. He was pretty emotional after completing this stunt and it made me love him all the more!!!
We hung around for a bit to see if he might come out, but the crew told us that he wasn't going to be coming out because he had to rush off to the Planet Hollywood Grand Opening Red Carpet event. We figured it was okay because the stunt was awesome and we can't expect to talk to Criss everytime, right? We headed back to the Luxor to use the restroom and run by the Production office one more time. I was waiting for Erika and Ann when I saw one of Criss' camera guys walk by with camera in hand. I thought, "OOH...they are so still gonna film! Gotta go scope it out." So, we headed in the direction he went and found that they were filming a closed set segment with Miss U.S.A. and Miss Universe at the Aurora. The cool thing about that is they were filming in an area that was separated by a glass wall, so we got to watch the whole thing.
At one point, the crew came to us and asked us not to congregate around, so we cooperated and found a table where we could still watch. Criss looked amazing and is so much fun to watch! Once they were done filming the crew told us that we could take all the pictures we wanted and so we went over where we could get better shots and a possible chance to talk to him as he was leaving. I got a couple of good ones, but most of them are the side of his head! LOL My friend, Erika, met him 2 weeks ago when she gave him a picture that she drew of his father. He looked at her and said, "Hey! How are you?" She said, "I'm the one who gave you a picture I drew." He said, "Yeah, I remember you!" I think he knew her without her even reminding him. I could tell by the look in his eyes. I took a picture of them and then he turned to me. He said, "Hi! How are you?" I was nervous and very excited, but I had a goal, so as I shook his hand, I asked, "Can I have a hug? I could really use a hug right now." He said, "Of course you can!" And he gave me a full hug and kissed me on the cheek. I wrapped my arms around him and squeezed. He is a great hugger and he does smell good. I said, "Thank you so much." Of course, he said thank you. I don't know why, but I didn't think to ask for a picture, but that's okay because I finally got my hug and kiss! He is so gracious to his fans. A little side note. I was having a kinda crappy day, but as soon as he hugged me, I knew that everything was going to be okay. And it was! He has an amazing effect on my mood!
He continued walking through the crowd and taking pictures and signing autographs. Some guy in a suit kept saying, "Come on Criss, you're late." He didn't care, he kept making time for his fans. In fact a younger fan, she was probably 13 or 14 or so, was crying and he stopped saying, "Aw, don't cry honey. I'm a person just like you." He hugged her and talked to her a little bit and then took a really cute pic of him kissing her forehead." The Luxor security kept saying, "As soon as Criss crosses this line, no more pics." Well, Criss crossed that line and someone asked for a pic and he said, "If you want a pic, have your cameras ready cause I gotta go," and he still stopped for a couple more! I put my camera up and he saw, so he looked right at it so I could get a picture. He was in mid-sentence so he looks like he is about to kiss someone!!! LOL After all of this, we hopped in our cars and went home. One more day trip to Vegas! Yes, that's right...a day trip! I got home at 1:30 a.m. and fell asleep with a smile on my face!
It was a tough decision to go because of personal reasons, but in the end it was sooooo worth it! I would so it again in a heartbeat because he is soooo amazing!
Here are the pics:
